General Settings

Manage your shop information, sync health, theme integration, and data settings in FilterIQ.

General Settings

The Settings page (/app/settings) is your central hub for managing your FilterIQ installation. It is organized as a single scrollable page with multiple cards, each covering a different area of your configuration.

Settings Page Layout

The Settings page contains the following cards, listed in the order they appear:

  1. Billing card -- Current plan and quick usage summary
  2. Shop Information card -- Store details from Shopify
  3. Product Sync Health card -- Sync status and index health
  4. Theme Integration card -- Theme extension status and controls
  5. Support & Tools card -- Bug reporting and documentation link
  6. Data Management section -- Export and reset controls

Billing Card

The Billing card sits at the top of the Settings page and gives you a quick view of your current plan without navigating to the full billing page.

It displays:

FieldDescription
Current planYour active plan name (Free, Starter, Pro, or Plus)
Monthly priceThe price you are paying per month
Usage summaryCompact progress bars for products indexed, search queries, and AI credits
Trial statusIf you are in a free trial, shows the number of days remaining

Actions

  • Upgrade -- Click the Upgrade button to open the Plan Selector Modal and switch to a higher plan
  • View Details -- Click to navigate to the full Settings > Billing page with detailed usage metrics and billing history

For complete billing documentation, see Billing & Plans.

Shop Information Card

The Shop Information card displays your store details as read from Shopify:

FieldDescription
Shop nameYour store's display name
EmailThe store owner email address
Shopify planYour current Shopify plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Plus)
DomainYour myshopify.com domain
CurrencyYour store's primary currency

This information is read-only and synced from your Shopify admin. If any details are incorrect, update them in your Shopify admin and they will reflect here on the next sync.

Product Sync Health Card

This card gives you a quick view of your product sync status without leaving the Settings page:

FieldDescription
Last syncTimestamp of the most recent successful sync
Products indexedNumber of products in the search index
ErrorsNumber of products that failed to sync
Auto-SyncWhether automatic background syncs are enabled

For detailed sync management (running syncs, viewing history, re-registering webhooks), go to the dedicated Sync page.

Theme Integration Card

The Theme Integration card shows the status of FilterIQ's integration with your Shopify theme:

Installation Status

Shows whether the FilterIQ Theme App Extension is active on your current theme:

  • Installed -- The extension is enabled and active
  • Not installed -- The extension needs to be enabled in your theme editor

Theme Name

Displays the name of the Shopify theme that FilterIQ is currently integrated with.

Auto-Install Toggle

When enabled, FilterIQ automatically activates the Theme App Extension when you switch themes. This saves you from manually enabling the extension after every theme change.

Rollback

If a theme integration causes issues, click Rollback to revert the theme extension to its previous state. This removes any recent changes made by FilterIQ to your theme configuration.

Layout Mode

Select the default layout mode for the filter integration:

  • App embed (recommended) -- Uses Shopify's app embed system; no theme file changes
  • Section -- Injects filters as a theme section (for themes that need explicit section placement)

Support & Tools

Data Management

Export Settings

Click Export Settings to download your entire FilterIQ configuration as a JSON file. This includes:

  • All filter configurations (store-wide and collection-specific)
  • Appearance settings
  • Swatch mappings
  • Search configuration
  • Synonym lists

Use this for backup purposes or to transfer your configuration to another store.

Reset Settings

Click Reset Settings to return FilterIQ to its factory defaults. This:

  • Clears all filter configurations
  • Removes all swatch mappings
  • Resets appearance settings to defaults
  • Triggers the Setup Wizard on your next visit to the Filters page

Warning: This action cannot be undone. Export your settings first if you want to preserve a backup.

A confirmation dialog appears before the reset is applied. You must type the word "RESET" to confirm.

Tips

  • Export before major changes -- Download your settings JSON before making sweeping configuration changes so you can restore if needed
  • Check theme integration after theme switches -- Even with auto-install, verify that the extension is active after switching themes
  • Monitor sync health regularly -- If the error count increases, investigate before it affects your storefront search results
