Give product order a clear intention.
Use configured rules to guide which products appear prominently. Choose the products and conditions, then check the resulting search order.
Product discovery software for Shopify · Private previewDefine the rule. Check the result.
Merchandising applies your decisions to discovery. Begin with a specific search or product set and a reason to change its ordering.
Read the merchandising guides- Pin and boost
- Pin selects a position for a chosen product; boost raises prominence without fixing an exact position. Confirm rule matching and ordering for the searches you intend to affect.
- Demote and hide
- Demote moves products lower; hide removes matching products from the affected results. Review availability and stock conditions before using either action.
- Review overlapping rules
- Check how rules interact with each other, shopper filters and your catalogue. Availability depends on plan and enabled configuration. Confirm the resulting storefront order before relying on a rule.
Compare product order
A campaign needs a deliberate product order in the searches or collections it targets. The useful proof is which products move and why.
- What your team controls
- Choose pin, boost, demote or hide, target products and rule scope. Review overlapping rules against the same query and filter state.
- What the shopper experiences
- Matching, eligible products can appear in a different order or be excluded by the configured action. A pin should not be interpreted as permission to bypass the shopper's constraints.
- Limitations and requirements
- Scope, enabled state, date eligibility and other rules affect the result. Date-based scheduling does not establish exact store-timezone activation. Confirm access and rule limits in your preview.
What to verify in your preview
Check 1
Record the query or collection, active filters and product identities in the original order.
Check 2
Configure one scoped rule and compare the result with those same inputs; identify each intended movement or exclusion.
Check 3
Test an overlapping rule and an out-of-scope query. Keep the previous configuration and verify the result after disabling the campaign.
